The story
Born from a rainy night around the fire.
In 2001, after two days of steady rain on a camping trip with his brothers and friends, inventor and artist Earl Senchuk propped a plastic tarp over the fire with tree branches. Smoke billowed from the edges — until he added a chimney. The Crown Firetent™ was born.
Two decades and several patents later, Earl partnered with Innovate Marquette SmartZone to bring the Crown Firetent™ to market. The design has been refined for stability, easy setup, and weather you can actually sit through.
Today, Crown Firetent™ has chosen Secret Creek as its manufacturing partner — pairing Earl's design with five decades of canvas-shelter craftsmanship from our Montrose, Colorado shop.
Setup
Designed to go up in minutes.
Crown Firetent™ packs into a single transport pouch and can be set up by one person. Here's how it works.
-
1
Measure your space
Pick a level spot and confirm there's enough clearance for the tent and the fire below it.
-
2
Stake the corners
Lay the tent out and pound in the stakes to anchor it securely to the ground.
-
3
Raise the poles
Lift the poles and stretch the canopy until the Crown Firetent™ stands taut and stable.
-
4
Light the fire
Grab some friends and enjoy the warmth — the chimney handles the smoke.
